| dc.description.abstract | To achieve the objectives, a quantitative non-experimental method was employed. The questionnaire was administered to a stratified sample of 10 schools in the Omusati region. The results of this questionnaire provided evidence that home environmental factors had an influence on the learners' educational and occupational aspirations. It was found that socio economic background, parent level of education, and parental involvement had a significant influence on the learners 'educational and occupational aspirations. The variable of gender also had a significant influence on the educational and occupational aspirations of learners. No significant relationship was found with regard to the impact of father's level of education and learners' occupational aspirations.
