dc.description.abstractThis study was aimed at identifying the views of Namibian stakeholders on quality and quality assurance in higher education institutions. It investigated the types of quality assurance mechanisms and procedures that are currently used by higher education institutions. It also investigated and proposed an appropriate quality assurance system for higher education in Namibiaen_US
dc.description.abstractThree research questionnaires were used to collect data from 112 students, 18 staff and ten external stakeholders. Two senior staff at one of the higher education institutions were interviewed and an internal quality assurance seminar was organised to collect data on quality matters. Information on policy documents of HEIs was also collected to have an idea of the type of policies that are in placeen_US
dc.description.abstractThe results indicated that HEIs do not have adequate and appropriate quality assurance policies, mechanisms and procedures to promote and assure quality in higher education. The results also showed that there was generally a culture of poor quality among some of the higher education institutionsen_US
